So, according to the message of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on August 9 at 5:45pm in the area of the settlement of Shusha (Shushi - ed. note) there was a shootout from small arms between the "armed formations" of Nagorno-Karabakh and the armed forces of Azerbaijan. "By the efforts of the Russian peacekeepers, the shooting was stopped, there were no casualties. On this fact, the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, together with the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides, is undertaking proceedings>, the RF Ministry of Defense said in a statement. At the same time, it is noted that the Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to carry out tasks on the territory of Nagorno- Karabakh.
At twenty-seven observation posts, Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and control over the observance of the ceasefire regime. Earlier, the press service of the Artsakh Defense Army reported about the violation by the enemy of the ceasefire and shelling of Armenian positions in the direction of Shosh-Mkhitarashen.
