ArmInfo. The next meeting on the case of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharian and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan has been postponed again. This was reported by the press service of the defense of the second RA President.
According to the report, the next hearing on the case is scheduled for 1.00pm on August 17. The decision was made at the request of Grigoryan's lawyer Erik Aleksanyan, who noted that his client cannot be present at the meeting for objective reasons, since he is a MP of the 8th convocation of parliament, which began its activity on August 2.
In turn, Judge Anna Danibekyan considered the reason for Grigoryan's absence at the hearing to be unjustifiable, and prosecutor Petros Petrosyan petitioned to apply mandatory measures and forcibly bring Gevorkyan to the next court session.
To which the defense recalled that Gevorgyan now has a new status and the application of such a measure can be applied only with the approval of the RA National Assembly.
Despite this remark of the defense, Judge Danibekyan ruled to ensure the compulsory presence of Gevorgyan at the next court session.
