Politician: Public agenda in Armenia is still falsified

ArmInfo.If there is a normal government and a normal opposition in Armenia, and a normal political society, the lion's share of the questions addressed to the  authorities would concern the problems of countering external  threats. We continue, as before, to be guided by a falsified public  agenda, within the framework of which the theatrical performance "ex-  current" is unfolding.

Former chairman of the board of the Heritage  party Armen Martirosyan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.  In  his opinion, the country lives by the old rules, which is reflected  in the composition of the new parliament: old oligarchs, republicans,  former military men, etc. This suggests that the power, its content,  in fact, has not changed. And we can state that the format and range  of issues discussed in Armenia in no way corresponds to the threats  existing today against Armenia, "he stressed. 

According to the politician, the current government and all its  predecessors are to blame for the current state of affairs in the  country, for the defeat in Artsakh. The representatives of the former  authorities are unable to cope with the current situation, they were  unable to quickly prepare the country for war. The latter did their  best to plunder, weaken the country and concentrate economic leverage  and wealth in several hands and in the hands of external players.

Nevertheless, today, in Martirosyan's opinion, all the politicians  who are guilty for the current situation in Armenia and the defeat in  Artsakh have gathered in the parliament: Robert Kocharian, Serzh  Sargsyan, Nikol Pashinyan and their entourage. All these people,  according to the politician, today are staging a comedy in parliament  and outside of it, which leaves no hope for the formation of  solutions to existing problems within the framework of a political  palette of a similar quality.

Moreover, according to the assessments of the politician, the current  government only adds new ones to the existing problems. One of which,  in his opinion, is the large-scale deployment of the Russian military  on the borders of Armenia taking place today. Meanwhile, the  protection of borders, according to his conviction, should be carried  out exclusively within the framework of the powers of the Republic of  Armenia and the authorities of the country must organize it. And what  is happening clearly does not add independence to Armenia in  decision-making and in the quality and strength of sovereignty.   Martirosyan extremely negatively assessed the completely pro-Russian  policy of the current authorities of Armenia, noting that under the  current conditions one can hope for its diversification only by  hoping for a miracle. Meanwhile, according to his forecasts, even  today Armenia is quite capable of ensuring its own security. For  this, it is necessary to create an atmosphere of solidarity in the  country and diversify foreign policy, in particular, in the field of  security.

"In reality, even today the West, of course, proceeding from its own  interests, is trying to assist Armenia.  And we see that at this  stage his interests coincide with those of Armenia. And the United  States, France, Europe, unlike Russia and Turkey, talk about the need  to revive the OSCE Minsk Group, three principles for resolving the  Artsakh problem: non-use of force, the right of peoples to  self-determination and territorial integrity. And here it is  important to emphasize that in today's changed realities, all these  three principles are in Armenia's interests, "Martirosyan summed up.
