ArmInfo. Sara Anjargolian was dismissed from her post as Head of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs.
According to the official website of the government, the corresponding decision was signed by acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on July 30, 2021.
Sara Anjargolian was born in London, UK and raised in Los Angeles, California, USA. She graduated with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1997 with a BA in Political Science and Public Policy, and received her Law degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000. During her legal career in the United States, she has worked as a litigation attorney for the US Department of Justice and as Deputy Los Angeles Attorney, Political Counselor to the Attorney General.
Anjargolian immigrated to Armenia in 2012. In 2014, Anjargolian co-founded Impact Hub Yerevan, a non- profit organization, and served as Executive Director before joining the Armenian government. She also served on the board of the International Impact Hub Association. The global organization Impact Hubs 100+ is a member of the global innovation network. In Armenia, Impact Hub Yerevan is an incubator of social enterprises and ecosystems for innovators and entrepreneurs.
In 2002-2004, under a Fulbright scholarship, Anjargolian taught at the American University of Armenia, and in 2009-2014, working as a multimedia journalist, she specialized in social projects.
On June 19, 2019, by the decision of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Sara Anjargolian was appointed to the position of the Head of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
