ArmInfo.The Armenian Police and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs will more actively exchange information.
On July 22, the government meeting approved the proposal to ratify the "Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Armenia on information interaction and exchange of information in electronic form on issues within the competence of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation and the Police of the Republic of Armenia."
As noted in the document, the RA Police have been exchanging information since 1992 on the basis of the Agreement on Relations between the Ministries of Internal Affairs in the Field of Information Exchange (signed in Cholpon-Ata on August 3, 1992), as well as on the basis of Interstate Agreements on the Exchange of Information in fight against crime, signed in Astana in 2009.
"However, the above acts do not provide an opportunity to join the network of law enforcement agencies of the CIS member states" CIS Criminalistics ", exchange information through it, and gain access to additional information resources online (the CIS Information Bank array)," the document says. To facilitate the operational exchange of information between the two departments, as well as to gain access to information resources on the Internet, in 2017, an Agreement was developed and signed between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Russian Federation on information cooperation and electronic exchange of information.
The agreement will allow, in particular, to provide, receive information in electronic form; ensure the security of information received under the Agreement in accordance with the legislation of each Party to international treaties to which they are parties. It is noted that the information received in accordance with the Agreement will be used exclusively for official purposes and will not be transferred to a third party without the prior written consent of the competent authority of the State Party that provided the information.
