ArmInfo. Border events are only a small part of reality. Second president of Armenia,  leader of the "Armenia" bloc Robert Kocharian stated an interview with several  Armenian media referring to the situation on the borders of Armenia.

"After the events in Yeraskh, we seemed to have forgotten that there  is the Black Lake. That there are numerous Azerbaijani soldiers on  the territory of Armenia. This is a logical continuation of  everything that happened to Armenia both during the war and in the  post-war period. We showed that we do not have the will, opportunity  and desire to give a worthy answer," Kocharian said.

He is convinced that Azerbaijan will advance its agenda with such  manifestations. At the same time, he added that he was not surprised  by such a development of the situation, and on the contrary, he would  be surprised if they were not there.

To clarify what this goal is being pursued, Kocharian stated that  initially Azerbaijan's goal was the complete occupation of  Nagorno-Karabakh. The second President of the Republic of Armenia is  convinced that this plan of Azerbaijan turned out to be incomplete  due to the intervention of the Russian side.

"Now they will try to achieve their goal by various pressures. In  addition, all this must be viewed in a different light. It is obvious  that part of our people are horrified by the thought of a new war.  This fact also affected the results of early elections. We admitted  our loss, and we do not want any steps on the part of these  authorities that can lead to a new conflict. In our society, the  psychology of a loser reigns. The following may happen: after this  kind provocations, a situation is created when the threat of a new  war becomes obvious to people, and the people will very easily  perceive the signing of another document, another concession, which  will be perceived not as a betrayal, but as salvation, "Kocharian  said, reminding that Armenia through this has already passed in the  fall of 2020.

"We have already seen this once. This is the technology of planned  defeat. I have a feeling that the same process is going on now," he  said.

The politician also does not exclude that preparations are underway  for a peace agreement with Azerbaijan.  "Nothing will surprise me  now. Yes, perhaps an agreement of this kind is being prepared, which  cannot be concluded without the recognition of the territorial  integrity of Azerbaijan by Armenia. And this will mean a cross on the  future of Karabakh," the head of "Armenia" bloc said.   In response to a question about how the Armenian side should behave,  Kocharian noted that over the past months, the Armenian society has  witnessed unacceptable statements against Armenia, which Yerevan left  unanswered. The second president is convinced that Armenia has  allowed its enemy to think that it is possible to treat it this way.  "Moreover, in my impression, all this is being used by Armenia for  domestic political purposes. I will repeat this thought: to  manipulate the people horrified by the war, with the help of these  fears, with the help of controlled fears, by increasing their dose  you achieve your goal inside the country. This is irrational  thinking, but when the instinct of fear is triggered, everything  becomes irrational to some extent. I believe that this factor was of  great importance during the elections and affected the election  process. What I would do, I will say that I would never have behaved  like that and would never have been dazed and kneeled, "Kocharyan  assured.  The second President of the Republic of Armenia also  touched upon the prospects for a complete resolution of the Karabakh  conflict and noted that the President of Azerbaijan and officials  clearly declare that they have resolved the Karabakh issue, and they  no longer have such a problem. "Have you heard any reasonable,  understandable statement from the Armenian authorities on this issue?  I have not heard, maybe I missed something. There is no concept, no  approach, we just go with the flow, God knows what will happen in the  end, and they are guided by this concept, "the politician said.  He  also commented on the personnel changes taking place in the army,  assuring that now no one understands what is happening in the defense  department.  "Nothing significant is happening inside the army. 

There are more talks about some reforms, about possible steps, but so  far we do not know anything about our losses, the exact number of  human and material losses has not been published. We do not know what  programs are being carried out to restore army, its combat  capability, and I do not think that this is the number one problem  for the authorities, it is not felt in their steps, "Kocharian noted,  adding that this situation continues during the post-election period.  

He also ironically commented on the possible appointment of Arshak  Karapetyan as Minister of Defense of Armenia: "Bravo,  congratulations, we will have a combat-ready army very soon. Let's  just say they take a playing cards, shuffle it and pull someone's  face out of it." In his opinion, such changes should not be taken  seriously, as they are just changes for the sake of change.
