ArmInfo.Armenia's President Armen Sarkissian received Nathalie Loiseau , French Member of the European Parliament, Head of the Committee on Security and Defense of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Head of the La Republique en Marche Delegation to the European Parliament.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacote also attended the meeting. As reported by the press service of the presidential administration, during the meeting Nathalie Loiseau stressed that she intends to personally familiarize herself with the situation, problems in Armenia and Artsakh, in order to understand in which direction the EU and France can provide assistance.
Expressing gratitude for the visit to Armenia, the President touched upon the post-war situation in the country, presented a timely vision for the future development of Armenia. He stressed the important role of the support provided by France and the EU and the importance of deepening cooperation in key areas.
In the context of the country's development, Sarkissian pointed to the need to implement constitutional changes, the adoption of a new Constitution with effective balancing and restraint mechanisms, which will contribute to the country's democratic progress and will allow the human potential of the Diaspora to be involved in the development of the Motherland.
As another prerequisite for the country's development, President Sarkissian noted the provision of progress in the field of education, high technologies and artificial intelligence.
