ArmInfo.Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia Hayk Grigoryan will be relieved of his post on July 12. In his place will be appointed Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee, 30-year-old Argishti Kyaramyan. The relevant issue is included in the agenda of today's extraordinary meeting of the Government of Armenia.
To note, Hayk Grigoryan became the head of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in July 2018, right after the Velvet Revolution.
To note also, by the current decision of acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashiyan, Kyaramyan has already been relieved of his post as Deputy Head of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, which he took on December 24, 2020.
It is worth noting that Argishti Kyaramyan is a rather controversial person who, in the three post- revolutionary years, having no experience of working in law enforcement agencies, managed to work in leadership positions, including in the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia. And he left the post of Director of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia on October 8, 2020, in the midst of the 44-day war in Artsakh, without having stayed in this post for 4 months.
It is also worth noting that, days earlier, by order of Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan, former director of the National Security Service, Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia Argishti Kyaramyan was awarded the medal "For Courage" for protecting the borders of the Republic of Artsakh. But, it is not specified where exactly this courage was shown.
