ArmInfo.Stepanakert criticized the visit of foreign ambassadors to occupied Shushi. Thus, Artsakh Foreign Minister David Babayan, in an interview with ArmInfo, expressing his attitude to the visit of diplomats to occupied Shushi, called this step wrong both from an ethical and a moral point of view.
" It is good that the ambassadors of Russia, the United States and France - the countries of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs - did not agree to take part in this farce. Once again, I think that the visit of foreign diplomats to the occupied territories of Artsakh, against the background of the bloodshed and numerous victims, is neither ethically nor morally correct. Or so they send a message that they encourage the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression? Have they got nothing better to do? That is, it turns out that they justify such behavior of the Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem, they justify the aggression committed against Artsakh," Babayan said, once again emphasizing the unacceptability of such behavior on the part of foreign diplomats.
At the same time, he once again stated that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is one of the most difficult in world practice, and time is needed to resolve it. "Now it is premature to talk about any progress in the negotiation process on the final settlement of the conflict. But I would like to emphasize once again that Artsakh will never be a part of Azerbaijan in any status," the head of the Artsakh Foreign Ministry summed up.
Days earlier, ambassadors of 46 states, including those from friendly countries for Armenia, visited the Armenian city of Shushi occupied by Azerbaijan. Thus, the occupied Shushi was visited by the ambassadors of Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Brazil, China, Afghanistan, Algeria, Palestine, Georgia, Croatia, Jordan, Israel, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Colombia, Korea, Qatar, Latvia, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Japan, Greece, charge d'affaires of Belgium, UAE, Chile, Estonia, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Libya, Romania, Slovakia, Sudan and Venezuela. The trip was also attended by representatives of the World Health Organization and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
Only the ambassadors of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries - Russia, the USA and France - refused to participate in the visit. This step by the diplomats of the three world powers provoked a negative reaction from Baku.
To recall, the Armenian Shushi came under the control of Azerbaijan after the signing of a trilateral ceasefire statement on November 9, 2020. Today, Azerbaijan, by its actions, is trying to completely erase the trace of the Armenian presence in this ancient Armenian city. The history of not only historical buildings is distorted, but also of religious buildings
