ArmInfo. The Russian peacekeeping contingent does not confirm the information of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry on the violation of the ceasefire regime on the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Thus, according to the press service of the RF Ministry of Defense, the Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to carry out tasks on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.
At twenty-seven observation posts, Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and control over the observance of the ceasefire regime.
The ceasefire is observed along the entire line of contact. Russian peacekeepers ensure the safe movement of citizens.
The engineer-sapper groups of the Russian peacekeeping contingent continue work on demining the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. During the day, 3 hectares of the territory were cleared.
In total, since November 23, 2020, 2,165 hectares of territory, 657.3 km of roads, 1,892 buildings (including 30 socially significant objects) have been cleared of unexploded ordnance, 25,640 explosive objects have been found and neutralized.
To coordinate efforts to prevent possible incidents in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, continuous interaction is maintained with the general staffs of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
To note, yesterday Azerbaijani Defense Ministry issued a statement that allegedly on July 6, at about 5:50pm, the Armenian Armed Forces fired on the Azerbaijani army units deployed in the direction of the Aliagaly village of the Agdam District. As a result of the shelling, a serviceman of the Azerbaijani army, who was involved in road improvement work, was wounded. The command of the Russian peacekeeping forces and the Turkish-Russian Joint Monitoring Center were informed in order to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, earlier the RA Ministry of Defense reported that the enemy provoked a firefight on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the direction of the RA Gegharkunik region. As a result of these actions, there are injuries on both sides.
