ArmInfo. The early parliamentary elections, apparently, formed a qualitatively new parliament in Armenia and, in general, corrected the results of the December 2018 elections. The Chairman of the party, lawyer Norayr Norikyan, expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"In my opinion, the results of the elections summed up the public moods that were finally corrected after the 2018 elections. And the withdrawal of two fairly large factions" Prosperous Armenia "and" Bright Armenia "from the parliament was also the result of fundamental changes in our political palette," he stressed. ...
At the same time, the lawyer emphasized that as a result of the parliamentary elections, there were some people who had long had to monitor the political processes in the country exclusively from behind bars. The latter, in his opinion, indicates the presence of a paradoxical situation. People who were rejected by society and removed from political processes 3 years ago received from society a mandate of trust and the status of parliamentary opposition.
In his opinion, this phenomenon needs serious analysis and in-depth research. However, the very absence of any post-election impulses, the lawyer considers as consent to the admition of the election results by all of their participants. The lawyer considers the intention of the Hayastan bloc to challenge the election results in the Constitutional Court to be the legitimate right of this force. At the same time, he noted that the Electoral Code clearly regulates the norms and circumstances, as a result of which the election results may be invalidated.
Commenting on the statements of representatives of the ruling force about the imminent establishment of a dictatorship of law following the election results, the lawyer noted that this time has come long ago. And today in the country there is an urgent need for supremacy and the application of laws.
Commenting on the statements of representatives of the ruling force about the imminent establishment of a dictatorship of law following the election results, the lawyer noted that this time has come long ago. And today in the country there is an urgent need for supremacy and the application of laws. "I have always opposed the" velvet "government of the country, believing that any power in the process of government should be guided exclusively by laws and the Constitution. The fact that in the last three years the institution of responsibility has not worked in Armenia, and criminals have been walking around freely is a fact. And now we will carefully consider the steps taken by the authorities towards restoring the rule of law in the country. The steps that Nikol Pashinyan is talking about again today, "the lawyer summed up.
On Sunday, the CEC summed up the official results of the early parliamentary elections in Armenia. Nikol Pashinyan's party "Civil Contract" gained 53.91%, Robert Kocharian's "Hayastan" bloc - 21.04% of the vote. The third force in parliament was the "I Have the Honor" bloc with 5.23% of the vote. Of the registered 2 million 595,512 voters, 49.39% of voters voted. Thus, the Civil Contract will be represented in the parliament of the 8th convocation with 71 mandates, the "Armenia" and "I Have the Honor" blocs with 29 and 7 mandates, respectively.
