According to the Kremlin press service, topical issues of Russian-Turkish cooperation in various fields were discussed. Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed gratitude for the decision taken by the Russian side to resume flights with Turkey, as well as for the start of deliveries of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.
The exchange of views on the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh was continued. A positive assessment was given to the work of the Joint Russian-Turkish Center for Controlling the Ceasefire and Military Operations. The President of Turkey expressed support for Russian efforts to ensure the full implementation of the agreements enshrined in the Statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan dated November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021.
Mutual readiness to continue coordination was confirmed, including in the interests of economic development and restoration of the region's transport infrastructure.
When considering settlement issues in Syria, the importance of joint activities of the Russian and Turkish military, aimed at preventing the escalation of tensions in Idlib and in the north-east of the country, and fighting the remaining terrorist groups in these regions, was emphasized. Vladimir Putin also shared his impressions of the recent talks in Geneva with US President Joseph Biden. It was agreed to continue personal contacts and joint work at other levels.
