ArmInfo. Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan expressed his readiness to resign. He stated this before the citizens gathered on June 22 at the Renaissance Square in Stepanakert.
At the same time, he noted that first he intends to hold public and political consultations in order to understand whether the Republic of Artsakh is ready to overcome the difficulties associated with the holding of early elections. In case of a satisfactory answer, Harutyunyan assured that he would resign as soon as possible and within a reasonable time will start organizing elections in the country, but he does not intend to nominate himself. Moreover, the current head of Artsakh is ready to quit politics.
"It is absurd to think that I am holding on to this position or interested in continuing my work. I just feel responsibility to our people and future generations to such an extent that I cannot destroy our statehood with my" emotional and short-sighted escape, "Arayik Harutyunyan said.
