ArmInfo. The head of the Armenia bloc headquarters Armen Gevorgyan told the Human Rights Defender of Armenia that the head of the Odzun community of the Lori region, Arsen Titanyan, was summoned to the governor, who illegally demanded the latter's resignation. Ombudsman of Armenia Arman Tatoyan reports this.
"According to Armen Gevorgyan, the head of the Odzun community refused to fulfill the demand of the governor of Lori, after which he was beaten in the presence of 7-8 people in the building of the regional administration for not fulfilling the demand.
The head of the headquarters of the "Armenia" bloc noted that, in his opinion, the demand for the resignation of the head of Odzun was clearly illegal and was accompanied by threats from the governor. According to Gevorgyan, the beating of Arsen Titanyan in the building of the regional administration is directly related to his support for their bloc in the early parliamentary elections, "Tatoyan said. At the same time, he said that immediately after the complaint, the Office of the Human Rights Defender promptly contacted the head of Odzun, who said that he had filed a report on the crime with the police. The Office of the Human Rights Defender took into account the statement of the official representative of the RA Prosecutor's Office on this matter.
It is also noted that today the office of the Human Rights Defender will send a request to the RA General Prosecutor's Office in connection with this incident.
Note that the adviser to the RA Prosecutor General Gor Abrahamyan also confirmed that the head of the Odzun community had submitted a report to the police about the crime committed against him. "The Prosecutor General's Office instructed to immediately initiate a criminal case on this matter," he wrote, adding that after the initiation of the case, it will be transferred to the Special Investigation Service.
