We expect, that the results of the electoral process after their legislative registration will contribute to the progressive development of Armenia, further strengthening of Russian-Armenian relations, as well as ensuring peace, security and stability in the entire Transcaucasian region, primarily in terms of the full implementation of the Trilateral Declarations of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia made on November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021.
Official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova stated in the commentary, following the results of the early parliamentary elections in the Republic of Armenia.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that according to the preliminary results announced by the Central Election Commission of Armenia, the final turnout was 49.4% of citizens eligible to vote.
The "Civil Contract" party, headed by acting Prime Minister of the country Nikol Pashinyan, received 53.92% of the votes, the "Armenia" political bloc - 21.04%, the "I have honor" alliance - 5.23%. The rest of the forces received a total of 19.81% of the votes. 4682 ballots were declared invalid.
The elections were monitored by numerous local (8749) and foreign observers (483), including those from Russia. In addition, 68 local and 49 foreign media were accredited for the elections. As head of the CIS observation mission in Armenia I. Nematov stated, the elections in the country were held in accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Code and observers did not record any major violations that could affect the voting results. Observer missions from the CSTO, OSCE / ODIHR and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe made similar assessments," Zakharova summed up.
