So, according to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, as of 3:00pm, the department received and prepared 15 materials on alleged crimes related to the obstacle to the exercise of the electoral right of citizens.
"10 violations relate to voting more than once or instead of another person, 4 violations- to the secrecy of voting, 1 - entering the polling station with a weapon and using violence in the territory adjacent to the polling station," the RA IC reported. The department added that a criminal case has been opened on the last incident, and additional materials are being prepared on the remaining 14 cases. Meanwhile, the Office of the Human Rights Defender reports that as of 3:00pm, they received 59 messages and statements regarding the electoral process, 570 publications in social networks and the media were studied.
The signals received by the hotline mainly concerned the accessibility of the polling station, the impossibility of self-representation of persons with disabilities, the issue of inclusion in additional voter lists, violations of the voting procedure, etc. Among the most frequently recorded publications in social networks and the media are violations of the procedure for submitting ballots , cases of directed voting by citizens, including military personnel, violation of the established form of ballots, etc. Special attention was paid to the issues of ensuring the smooth work of observers and journalists.
The office of the Human Rights Defender also recalled that the working group created on behalf of the Ombudsman from the early morning carries out independent monitoring of the electoral process both in the central and regional divisions of Shirak, Gegharkunik, Syunik and Tavush.
In addition to these areas, representatives of the working group were sent to Syunik region to study complaints about electoral rights in Vayots Dzor and Syunik and, if necessary, to respond quickly.
