ArmInfo. The new resolution of the Dutch parliament demands the immediate release of the Armenian prisoners of war and civilians held by Baku.
According to a message posted on the Facebook page of the Dutch Embassy in Armenia, as a result of yesterday's extensive discussions in the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Dutch Parliament, at today's plenary session, the parliament by an overwhelming majority of votes (147 - in favor, 3 - against) adopted a resolution demanding the release of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians.
The resolution, in particular, says: "Since a truce was signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan through the mediation of Russia, which includes the exchange of bodies of prisoners, hostages, and other detainees and bodies of the dead, since the Geneva Convention (III) on the Treatment of Prisoners obliges Armenia and Azerbaijan to release them immediately after the end of hostilities, Since these countries are obliged to treat prisoners with dignity, to protect the arrested civilians, having recorded that Azerbaijan has not yet released all Armenian prisoners calls on the minister to put pressure on Azerbaijan in the (European) Council in order to immediately repatriate all arrested and captured Armenians. "
