ArmInfo. The Homeland party of the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharian accused the police of unreasonable and disproportionate use of force against their representatives. According to the party's statement, the incident took place the day before in the city of Yeghegnadzor.
Today it became known about the gratuitous detention of party representatives, which paralyzed the campaign work for several hours.
"Despite the assurances received from the Police that they do not intend to carry out a political order and disrupt the pre-election competition, recent events indicate a completely different thing. In this situation, either the Police leadership does not control the situation, or is simply involved in the implementation of offenses.
We warn you that from now on, the Chief of the Police Vahe Ghazaryan and the leadership are personally responsible for any actions of law enforcement agencies. Based on this, we will conduct an appropriate investigation, "the statement reads.
The statement does not clarify what exactly happened and for what reason the representatives of the party were detained.
