ArmInfo. Head of the Department of Iranian Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of YSU Vardan Voskanyan accuses Turkey of attempting a new blockade of Armenia.
According to him, based on the information published in the Azerbaijani media about the so-called "Shusha" Declaration, the document from the point of view of Azerbaijani-Turkish interests not only fixes the importance of the so-called "Zangezur Corridor", but also the need to build the Nakhichevan-Kars railway, which is its continuation.
"It also becomes clear that under the deceptive "packaging" of unblocking regional communications, Baku and Ankara are openly trying to promote the implementation of the Turan Corridor idea, since the Kars-Gyumri-Yeraskh-Nakhichevan railway already exists to get from Kars to Nakhchivan, most of which however, passes through the territory of Armenia.
Thus, the new Nakhichevan-Kars railway, which will be built bypassing Armenia exclusively on the Gyumri-Yeraskh section, not only contradicts the logic of loud assurances about unblocking communication routes, but, on the contrary, is aimed at blockading Armenia and creating a land connection between Turkey and the Turkish illusory "Turan"," the expert noted, accusing the current Armenian authorities of inaction against the background of the signing of such a far-reaching document by the Armenia's enemies in Shushi.
To recall, on June 15 in the Armenian Shushi occupied by Azerbaijan, the leaders of Turkey and Azerbaijan, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev signed the so-called Shusha Declaration on Alliance.
Aliyev noted that the so-called Shusha Declaration on Alliance between Azerbaijan and Turkey determines the direction of future cooperation between the two states. "Practically all sectors are covered. The importance of energy security, the Southern Gas Corridor for Turkey, Azerbaijan and Europe is indicated. Each issue reflected in the declaration is very important. Among them I would like to highlight two issues. Firstly, this declaration reflects the issues of cooperation in the sector of defense and defense industry, as well as mutual military assistance, "said the permanent leader of Azerbaijan.
The second important issue Aliyev called the opening of new transport communications, including transport links through the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia to so-called "Zangezur corridor".
The signed joint declaration of alliance states that the parties will provide each other with assistance in the event of a threat or attack by a third state on the independence or territorial integrity of either side.
The document emphasizes that Turkey and Azerbaijan are making joint efforts to address issues of regional and global security and stability.
The declaration states that the opening of the so-called "Zangezur corridor" between Turkey and Azerbaijan and the Nakhijevan-Kars railway line will contribute to the development of relations between the two countries. Let us also note that Azerbaijan has already begun to blackmail Armenia through its pocket political scientists, stating that if Yerevan refuses the so-called "Zangezur corridor", then Baku will close the Lachin corridor - the only way to ensure communication between Armenia and Artsakh.
