On the morning of June 16, only 10 MPs registered. Meanwhile, to ensure a quorum in the 132-seat parliament, the presence of 67 MPs is required. "12 MPs have been registered, there is no quorum, you have to wait," after the registration of the MPs, deputy speaker of the parliament Lena Nazaryan announced.
She recalled that in accordance with part 4 of Article 51 of the Law on the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, the sitting continues until the required number of MPs is registered, but no more than 4 hours. Thus, the parliament will wait until 2:00 pm for those who are absent.
Extraordinary parliamentary elections will be held on June 20. Members of parliament of the seventh convocation during the period of the official campaign are actively involved in the process, which started on June 7. Meanwhile, there are more than three dozen issues on the agenda of the meeting. The official election campaign will end on June 18th. June 19 will be a day of silence.
