ArmInfo. From June 18, those enjoying recreation on Lake Sevan can use the services of the electric train of the company "South Caucasian Railway" on the route Almast (Yerevan) - Shorzha. The seasonal commuter train will run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
According to the SCR, from the Almast station, which is located next to the plant of the same name in the administrative district of Kanaker-Zeytun, the electric train departs at 8:30 am, arriving at the Sevan station at 10:28 am, Shorzha at 11:28 am.
In the opposite direction, the electric train from Shorzha station departs at 5:00 pm, from Sevan station - at 6:00 pm and arrives in Yerevan at 8:00 pm. One-way ticket costs: 600 AMD to Sevan station and 1,000 AMD to Shorzha station.
An electric train to Shorzha (Sevan) station is assigned to the SCR every summer season to create more comfortable travel conditions for vacationers, as well as to unload traffic interchanges in the direction of Yerevan-Sevan.
The South Caucasian Railway CJSC is a 100% subsidiary of the Russian Railways OJSC and carries out concession management of the Armenian railways. The railway infrastructure of Armenia was transferred to the concession management of the SCR CJSC in accordance with the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The term of the concession management is 30 years with the right to extend it for another 10 years
