ArmInfo. Former President of Armenia, candidate for prime minister from "Hayastan" bloc ("Armenia", Ed. note) Robert Kocharian did not rule out that after the early parliamentary elections on June 20, people may take to the streets and clashes are possible.
"This, of course, is an extremely undesirable scenario, it cannot be completely denied," Kocharian said in an interview with RIA Novosti, Sputnik Armenia and RT, answering the question whether he is ready to take people out into the street after the elections and whether clashes are possible.
Kocharian believes that everything will depend on the results and with what confidence the society will relate to this result. "If the Central Election Commission and local election commissions carry out their work clearly, within the framework of the law, then I don't think there will be any serious consequences. I am quite optimistic about the results and the fact that we will be able to avoid these predictions (about clashes, Ed. note)," Kocharian said.
Extraordinary parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia on June 20, 25 political forces - 4 blocs and 21 parties - will take part in them.
