ArmInfo. Rat race, camp change. This is how the first president of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, commented on the transition of such prominent supporters of the Armenian National Congress as Vladimir Karapetyan and Gagik Jhangiryan to the camp of the current authorities. It should be reminded that in the spring of this year, the former military prosecutor of Armenia Gagik Jhangiryan was elected a member of the Supreme Judicial Council at the suggestion of the authorities. And Vladimir Karapetyan weeks earlier headed the Armenian diplomatic mission in Ukraine.
"An elementary camp change. I don't want to use another Latin word. Rat race," Levon Ter-Petrosyan said. To clarify whether he is considering the possibility of creating a coalition with former presidents of Armenia Robert Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan, Ter-Petrosyan recalled his earlier proposal, which was rejected by the presidents. According to him, it is no longer possible to return to it and there is no point in talking about it anymore.
"It's another matter that if we also pass (to parliament - ed. note), and Kocharyan passes, Pashinyan passes, others pass, and no one has a majority, we will have to go to the formation of coalitions. I am always for solidarity and coalitions. This phenomenon, however, can give rise to new problems for Armenia, since the coalitions can change every six months. As a result, we may be among the countries where several governments change a year. This is a bad option, but, of course, we should try. If there is a situation in which we will have to choose between candidates for prime minister Kocharian and Pashinyan, then the ANC will try not to make a wrong decision, "the Armenian politician summed up.
