ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia reports on the arrest of two persons for giving an electoral bribe in the city of Gavar, Gegharkunik region of the Republic of Armenia.
Thus, according to the report of the RA Prosecutor General's Office, the incident took place in the city of Gavar, Gegharkunik region on June 8. Information was received that a representative of one of the political parties participating in the upcoming early elections was distributing food as a pre-election bribe. In particular, the head of the Gavar office of one of the parties instructed the secretary of the same office to distribute 80 packages of food, according to the submitted list, in order to provide them with votes in the elections.
On the morning of June 9, the party secretary handed out bribes to 8 citizens in the form of food packages (the cost of the 1st package is about 7000 AMD).
A criminal case was initiated on the basis of Part 1 of Art. 154.2 and clauses 1 and 2 of part 4 of article 154.2 of the RA Criminal Code. The above persons were detained. Measures are being taken to identify other participants in the crime.
