ArmInfo.Armenia and the USA discussed the possibilities of implementing a program of cooperation in the field of chemical, biological, radiation and nuclear safety in the Republic of Armenia. This became known after the meeting of the head of the Emergencies Ministry's Rescue Service Armen Gasparyan with the delegation of the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), headed by Azbella Theobald, head of the Program for Cooperation in the Sphere of Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Safety.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the implementation of the program will contribute to the development of the capabilities of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia in terms of detection, prevention and response to biological threats.
Azbella Theobald noted that she will make every effort for the successful implementation of the program. She said that in October-November this year, equipment for carrying out work in the chemical, biological, radiation and nuclear fields will be supplied to Armenia. According to a DTRA representative, it is also planned to attract the best instructors to ensure a high level of training.
