ArmInfo. As part of his election campaign, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan went to the Aragatsotn region, where he met with residents of the communities of Yeghnik, Aragatsavan, Arteni, Dashtadem, Talin.
During his speeches, Pashinyan stressed that after the elections in Armenia, a new stage will begin, which will be marked by the restoration of the feeling of victory among the Armenian people, and will become a stage in the country's history of development, strengthening, peace, prosperity and future. Extraordinary parliamentary elections, he said, will be held on June 20 with the aim of returning power to the people. "Armenia has a future, but we must build it. It will inevitably come, but we must decide today what this future will be like," he said. In this context, acting Prime Minister stressed that the current crisis in the country can be resolved on June 20 by casting vote for the "Civil Contract".
Communicating with residents of the Aragatsotn region, Pashinyan also touched upon a number of important points related to the Karabakh issue. In this context, he stated that today there are more opportunities for resolving the Karabakh issue than 4 years ago. "I know that it sounds strange, but I cannot disclose details. The only thing I can say is that the content of the negotiation process from 1996 to 2018 provided for only one possibility - to gradually return Artsakh to Azerbaijan. And today, within the framework of the OSCE co-chairmanship, the need to restore the negotiation process to clarify the final status of Nagorno-Karabakh was registered. And we need consistent work in this direction, "Pashinyan said.
At the same time, he spoke about the untouchable borders of the RA. In this regard, the leader of the "Civil Contract" stressed the need for the withdrawal of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops from the border area in Sotk, where the troops of the Russian peacekeeping contingent or international observers should be localized. Continuing the thought, Pashinyan noted that border delimitation should be carried out in the presence and under the auspices of representatives of the international community. To recall, on June 7, the pre-election campaign for early parliamentary elections started, which will end on June 18 at 12:00am. 26 political forces are participating in the elections: 22 parties and 4 blocs.
