Azerbaijani military continue to rampage on the territory of Armenia

ArmInfo. The illegal actions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, where they invaded on May 13, led to new  incidents in the Gegharkunik region of Armenia.

The desire of the Armenian military-political leadership of the Republic of Armenia to  peacefully resolve the situation on its borders as a result of the  illegal invasion of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces into the sovereign  territories of the Republic of Armenia creates new problems for the  residents of the border area and further discredits the Armenian  army.  Thus, on May 5, in the afternoon, information appeared on the  network that the Azerbaijani military in Gegharkunik fired at a  shepherd grazing cattle in the pastures of the Kut community, and  even took away several dozen heads of cattle.

Only late in the evening on June 5, the Armenian Defense Ministry  issued another toothless statement, which reads in particular: "On  June 5, another incident was registered on the Armenian-Azerbaijani  border.  Part of the livestock grazed by the shepherds of the Kut  village of Gegharkunik region, in the areas adjacent to the village,  moved towards the position of the Azerbaijani military. When the  shepherd, trying to drive away the cattle, moved towards the  Azerbaijani military, fire was opened in his direction.  The  servicemen of the Armed Forces of Armenia immediately approached the  scene, in response the Azerbaijani side opened fire again. After the  retaliatory actions of the Armenian side, the fire was stopped, and  most of the cattle were returned. Nobody was hurt as a result of the  firefight>.  This is not the first case of such unleashed behavior of  the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the sovereign territories of the  Republic of Armenia. During this period of the illegal presence of  Azerbaijanis on the territory of the Republic of Armenia, one  Armenian soldier has already died, six more were taken prisoner, and  this is not counting the pressure on the residents of border  villages, who daily face the unleashed actions of the Azerbaijani  armed forces, who do not see a worthy rebuff from the Armenian the  parties, against the background of the order not to use force, are  more and more greedy.

This is not the first case of such unleashed behavior of the  Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the sovereign territories of the Republic  of Armenia. Against this background, today the Ombudsman of Armenia Arman Tatoyan  made a harsh statement, who informed that after the signal was  received about the shelling of a shepherd in the village of Kut,  urgent work was carried out to establish the facts. According to him,  the work carried out by the Ombudsman's office showed that the  Azerbaijani military began shooting between 12:30 and 13:00 pm, when  the animals approached the river in the pasture to drink.

<This is a permanent place to drink water for the community's  livestock. Moreover, the shepherd and the animals were on the  sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, and the armed forces  of Azerbaijan were in the part they illegally invaded. The shooting  lasted about 30 minutes towards the shepherd from Kut. The shepherd  managed to escape on a horse, but the horse was wounded as a result  of shelling. As a result of these actions, the Azerbaijani military  stole more than 80 heads of cattle, 4 of which were shot.  The fact  that on June 5 the Azerbaijani armed forces fired at the shepherd of  the village of Kut was confirmed by the RA Ministry of Defense. The  shooting stopped after the return fire of the RA Armed Forces,  "Tatoyan said in a statement.

In this regard, the Human Rights Defender pointed out the clearly  criminal nature of these actions by the Azerbaijani armed forces. "In  fact, they open fire on the civilian population of the Republic of  Armenia with the intention of depriving them of their right to life  and the opportunity to engage in animal husbandry. And all this is  happening in the conditions when, since May 12, they illegally  invaded the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, referring  to fake maps, "he said, pointing out the same nature of actions by  the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the Syunik region of the Republic of  Armenia.

"Continuous fact-finding work clearly shows that these actions of the  Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, grossly violating the rights of border  residents of the Republic of Armenia, are connected with the policy  of Armenophobia and enmity carried out by the Azerbaijani  authorities. This incident clearly shows who is actually undermining  the security of people in the region and the prospects for restoring  peace, "said Arman Tatoyan.  On the evening of May 6, the Ombudsman  issued another statement in which reported an attempt by the  Azerbaijani military on the afternoon of May 6 to steal 20 horses in  the same Vardenis community.  According to him, it was managed to  stop stealing horses only thanks to the fire opened by the Armenian  military.
