RA Defense Ministry: Armed Forces of Azerbaijan have repeatedly tried  to initiate fortification works on the borderline of RA territory

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia, responding to publications in the media about the fortification works by Azerbaijanis on Armenian territory, reports  that on June 3, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces tried to use a tractor  to carry out groundwork in the border zone belonging to the Republic  of Armenia.

These attempts, as noted, were promptly suppressed by the  corresponding actions of the Armenian units.  After the warning shots  fired by the Armenian units, the work was stopped and the Azerbaijani  side was presented with a clear demand to exclude the repetition of  such attempts.

"Nevertheless, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan continue to carry out  engineering and fortification works in the territories where their  military posts are located, without crossing the border of the  Republic of Armenia. Since these areas and the movement carried out  by the Azerbaijani military there is visible in Verin Shorzha,  Gegharkunik region, as well as from the villages of Kut, it causes  the concern of the local population, which is reflected in the  Ombudsman's report." the RA Defense Ministry said.

To recall, the Azerbaijani military invaded the sovereign territory  of Armenia on May 12 and are still in the Sevlich (Black Lake) region  in the Syunik region of Armenia, trying to gain a foothold here at  the expense of the Armenian territories. A similar situation has  developed in Gegharkunik region, near Vardenis.

Yesterday, Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan on his Facebook page  noted, that Azerbaijani servicemen in the pastures of the Gegharkunik  region of Armenia illegally stop local villagers, threaten them and  try to illegally search cars. In addition, on June 3, in connection  with the village of Kut, the Geghamasar community, alarms were  received that the Azerbaijani military continues to be deployed in  the immediate vicinity of the village, which is why the villagers can  use only a small part of the pastures.  Moreover, the Azerbaijani  military insults the shepherds and threatens with weapons, while the  village itself is at gunpoint. It is noted that the barn of the  Norabak village of the Geghamasar community was in the illegal  possession of the Azerbaijani military, the villagers were deprived  of the opportunity to use it.  There are also rivers near the barn,  which were used for agricultural purposes, but the villagers are now  deprived of this opportunity. Water resources, which are used as  drinking and irrigation water, are under the control or possession of  the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.  Head of the community Verin Shorzha  Artem Yeranosyan said that the Azerbaijani side already has working  equipment, which has begun construction to organize the movement of  the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan. Until recently, he did not notice any  equipment, but now Azerbaijanis are driving along the mountain slope.
