ArmInfo.In order to properly organize and conduct the upcoming early parliamentary elections, Armenian Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan held a meeting with the participation of Director of the National Security Service of Armenia Armen Abazyan, Chief of Police Vahe Ghazaryan, Deputy Chief of the Special Investigation Service Vladimir Hovhannisyan and members of the working group formed in the Prosecutor's Office.
As reported by the RA General Prosecutor's Office, the meeting discussed issues related to ensuring the legal course of the upcoming elections, preventing possible criminal violations, organizing a joint criminal-legal struggle against them by law enforcement agencies. The need for law enforcement to ensure the free expression of the will of citizens was emphasized.
Davtyan clearly and in detail pointed out the main goals on which the law enforcement agencies should focus, noted the importance of the work of law enforcement agencies with citizens in the matter of holding fair, free and transparent elections, combating electoral violations, as well as the need for the law enforcement system to respond quickly to signals received.
It is worth noting that today in connection with the upcoming elections, the Armenian Police also made a statement, recalling the criminal consequences of giving electoral bribes and urging political forces and citizens to refrain from acts that entail criminal liability.
