Armenian military were captured by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in Armenian territory, this is very dangerous tendencies and the RA Ministry of Defense should explain under what circumstances, this happened, and why the Armenian  side did not take proportionate measures. Independent lawmaker of the  Armenian Parliament Taguhi Tovmasyan stated this on May 27 in an  interview with journalists in the National Assembly.

"It turns out that we do not take them prisoner, moreover, they have  infiltrated our territories, and they are already capture our  soldiers and even declare them to be saboteurs. I see the  disproportionate actions. We propose to convene a meeting of  parliament, invite the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General  Staff, let them answer us why this is happening, "Tovmasyan said,  reminding that according to the RA Constitution, the RA Armed Forces  are obliged to protect our territories and security.  In her words,  it is necessary to understand what obstacles exist for this, what  secret, impossible situations have arisen, from whom Armenia is  asking for help and where it is heading.

"For me, there was one truth, if you do not want to protect yourself,  no one will come to protect you, no matter where you turn: the  Collective Security Treaty Organization, the UN Security Council or  NATO.  We do not defend ourselves, and we are waiting for someone to  defend us, and even we are indignant. This is inappropriate. The  Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Artak  Davtyan, should be held accountable for the enemy's violation of the  country's territorial integrity, for the fact that enemy forces  entered our territory."

Davtyan should be held accountable for the fact that the Azerbaijani  Armed Forces are in our country and that he does not properly perform  their work, "the MP said.

Tovmasyan noted that the Armenian authorities, as always, are  shifting the blame onto others, including the CSTO. "Today's problems  have been visible to me for a long time, which I partially talked  about.  Azerbaijanis came to the extent that we opened our doors for  them. I have already said that the contact line is not equipped, the  Azerbaijanis also saw all this, and from a close distance." From our  side there was no order to equip positions. These mistakes must be  corrected. We are in a difficult situation. It turns out that we were  captured on our territory. I do not know what the consequences will  be, "the lawmaker concluded.

As ArmInfo previously reported, on the morning of May 27, at the  border section of the Gegharkunik region of the Republic of Armenia,  while carrying out engineering work on the territory of the N  military unit of the Armenian Armed Forces, six servicemen of the  Armed Forces of Azerbaijan were surrounded and captured by the  servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
