ArmInfo. The governor of the Kotayk region of Armenia, Mesrop Mesropyan, has submitted his resignation due to disagreement with the personnel policy in his region. Mesropyan stated this on May 27 after a government meeting, during which the decision to release the head of the region was approved.
"In connection with this appointment, the higher management offered me something that was unacceptable for me and I just adhered to my principles," he explained, pointing out that the disagreement was with the acting Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan. According to Mesropyan, he submitted his resignation on May 10.
At the same time, he refrained from making further comments, referring to the pre-election period and unwillingness to become part of political speculation.
To recall, Mesrop Mesropyan took over the leadership of the region on December 26, 2020 after Romanos Petrosyan was dismissed from the post of Governor of Kotayk on June 30, and was appointed Minister of Nature Protection. Prior to that, Mesropyan was a member of the Public Services Regulatory Commission and resigned to take up the post of governor of the region. It should be noted that Aharon Sahakyan was appointed governor of Kotayk region by today's government decision.
