ArmInfo.Acting Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan and Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan will not be on the electoral list of the ruling Civil Contract party, - said the leader of the parliamentary faction "My Step" Lilit Makunts on May 26 in an interview with journalists.
"This is his personal decision, and I ask you to contact Mr. Avninyan for additional comments," she said. Hayk Marutyan will not be on the list either.
According to Makunts, she has no information about the possible appointment of Tigran Avinyan as ambassador. As for his appointment to the post of Armenian Ambassador to the United States, according to Makunts, the agrement has already been received, but the decision will be made after the parliamentary elections. Commenting on the inclusion of representatives of big business - Khachatur Sukiasyan and Gurgen Arsenyan in the list of the "Civil Contract", contrary to Nikol Pashinyan's early statements that business has no place in parliament, the head of the faction first explained that in the RA all entrepreneurs - from the owners of small stalls to the owner of a large company are considered businessmen. At the same time, Makunts added, Armenian legislation prohibits the combination of business and political activities, but it does not prohibit business representatives from engaging in politics. "The Commission on Ethics and the Prevention of Corruption of the Parliament will react to the violation of the established rules - up to the deprivation of the mandate," she assured.
Earlier today, the lawmakers of the "My Step" faction Nikolai Baghdasaryan and Artak Manukyan announced that they would not be included in the proportional electoral lists of the party in power "Civil Contract". Prior to that, it became known that the leader of "Yerkrapah", a lawmaker from the "My Step" faction Sasun Mikaelyan will also not run on behalf of the party in the upcoming elections.
