ArmInfo.Russian-Armenian relations have no alternative. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin stated this on May 25 during the conference "The Image of  Russia's Strategic Ally in Modern Armenian Society" organized by the  research and analytical organization "Integration and Development"  and the Eurasian Expert Club.

At the same time, the diplomat added that Russian-Armenian allied  relations are not something that arose recently or at the request of  some politicians, they were built over centuries of common life and  joint development.

"These relations fully play their role today, and Russia and Armenia  are linked by very close ties - human, economic, etc. Too much unites  us. And this should not be forgotten especially now, in this  difficult time, at a very difficult stage of life and the development  of the Republic of Armenia. The tests that the Armenian people go  through fully demonstrate the quality of our allied relations,  "Kopyrkin said.  In this vein, the diplomat drew attention to the  fact that the only country that has provided and is providing  practical assistance to Armenia in this critical situation is Russia. 

Kopyrkin noted that the Russian side has undertaken and is making  great efforts to return Karabakh to a peaceful life, to ensure its  further development.  "We attach great importance to the fact that  the Armenian population quickly overcome the stress caused by the  war. On this path, serious steps are being taken to deepen bilateral  relations, work has begun in a trilateral format, and the Russian  military base also plays an important role in ensuring security.   Russia makes active efforts to resolve the situation in Syunik. All  these aspects are indicative and show our approach to alliance  issues, "the diplomat concluded.
