ArmInfo.Russia has accumulated extensive experience in the issue of delimitation and demarcation of the state borders and is ready to provide advisory assistance to Azerbaijan and Armenia on this issue. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Rudenko, answering a TASS question on Thursday on the sidelines of the conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
"Russia would be ready, in case of a corresponding request from Baku and Yerevan, to provide advisory assistance in this process," the deputy minister said. We have accumulated experience of such work, therefore, we are ready to participate, but I repeat once again, if there is an appropriate appeal and consent of all parties. "
Rudenko noted that the result of the work on resolving the issue of delimitation and demarcation should be an agreement on the state border.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia, within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, offered to provide assistance to Baku and Yerevan in resolving the situation on the border and came up with an initiative to create an Armenian-Azerbaijani commission for delimitation and demarcation of the border, in which the Russian Federation could accept participation as a consultant or intermediary. Answering the question whether there was any reaction from the sides, Rudenko said that so far "he does not know about their reaction."
