ArmInfo.Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia Armen Grigoryan, during a telephone conversation with his colleague from Tajikistan, Chairman of the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Council Nasrull Mahmudzod, informed the latter about the current situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
As reported by the press service of the RA Security Council, Nasrullo Mahmudzoda noted the importance of resolving the issue peacefully, expressing his readiness to assist in the implementation of the mechanisms provided for in the framework of the CSTO to resolve the issue.
Armen Grigoryan pointed out the importance of using the platform of the upcoming May 19 meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers to discuss this issue.
He also stressed that the demands of the Azerbaijani side are not based on factual grounds, and from this point of view, the importance of the speedy and complete withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from these territories is important.
In turn, Nasrullo Mahmudzoda added that the President of Tajikistan, Chairman of the CSTO Collective Security Council Emomali Rahmon had already given appropriate instructions for a comprehensive discussion of the issue at a meeting of the CSTO Ministerial Council.
