


ArmInfo. As part of the operational-search activities carried out by law enforcement officers, on May 17, officers of the Armenian Police identified and detained a 57-year-old resident of Yerevan, Gagik Beglaryan, who is on the wanted list.
According to the report of the RA police, Beglaryan arrived at the "Zvartnots" airport by a plane carrying out a flight from Moscow to Yerevan.
The department also recalled that Beglaryan has been wanted since March 23, 2020. He is charged with acts under Art. 179 of the RA Criminal Code (misappropriation or embezzlement) and Art. 308 of the RA Criminal Code (abuse of official position). He was taken to the RA NSS. Arrest was chosen as a preventive measure.
To note, Gagik Beglaryan (popularly known as "Black Gago", Ed. note), served as the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Armenia in the team of the third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan from June 16, 2012 to September 20, 2016. Prior to that, in the period from 2009 to 2010, he was the mayor of the city of Yerevan.
