ArmInfo.Ambassador of Armenia to Iran Artashes Tumanyan during a meeting with Minister of Road and Urban Development of Iran Mohammad Eslami spoke about the situation created as a result of the invasion of the Azerbaijani armed forces into the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
As reported by the press service of the RA Embassy in Iran, Tumanyan noted that Armenia counts on the support of friendly Iran in order to put an end to Azerbaijan's provocative actions directed against the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and aimed at destabilizing the region.
Reaffirming the need to preserve the territorial integrity of countries adhering to the principle of inviolability of borders, the parties discussed work on the implementation of the "Persian Gulf - Black Sea International Transport and Transit Corridor" program.
In turn, Eslami expressed the readiness of the Iranian leadership to launch the aforementioned most important transport corridor aimed not only at economic development, but also at ensuring regional security.
Tumanyan stressed the need to strengthen the North-South transport corridor, noting that this proceeds from the interests of all countries participating in the program, and is the best way to curb the destabilizing aspirations of the region.
