ArmInfo. At the extraordinary session convened today, the National Assembly of Armenia adopted a statement, in which it condemned the provocative actions of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory and the possibility of applying any adequate actions to protect sovereignty.
The statement, in particular, notes that the aggressive and provocative actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces violate fundamental international rules, including the principles of the UN. Taking this into account, Armenia reserves the right to take adequate tough actions envisaged by international norms for the protection of its territory and the safety of the population.
Recall that on the morning of May 12, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces crossed the border in the area of Lake Sev Lich in the Syunik region, going deep into the territory of Armenia up to 3.5 kilometers in order to establish control over the lake. Armenia has already applied for the use of military-political security mechanisms within the framework of the CSTO, for help from Russia within the framework of bilateral agreements, refusing so far from the use of military instruments, realizing that the provocation of Baku, under the pretext of clarifying the borders, aims to unleash a new war in the region.
