ArmInfo. In addition to the official appeal to the CSTO, acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the issue of military assistance within the framework of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia. Deputy Speaker of the parliament of the seventh convocation Alen Simonyan announced this on May 14 in an interview with journalists.
Simonyan claims that Azerbaijan did not declare war on Armenia, since there was not a single shot, not a single clash. "It is impermissible to make such a statement at this stage," he said.
At the same time, Simonyan admits that: "There is a problem related to the sovereign territory of Armenia, in connection with which the republic turned to a military ally with which we have a treaty, as well as to the CSTO."
According to him, the situation changes every minute. "Yesterday we thought that the Azerbaijani troops would retreat - there were certain agreements in this direction. Today we see that there are no changes, based on this, the prime minister appealed to the Russian president on the issue of assistance," he explained.
Earlier, press secretary of the head of the Russian state Dmitry Peskov told the journalist that during a telephone conversation on Friday, acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan did not discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin the topic of Moscow's assistance in connection with the situation on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
