ArmInfo.Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan did not discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a telephone conversation on the topic of assistance from Moscow in connection with the situation on the border of Azerbaijan and Armenia on Friday. This, as reported by TASS, told reporters press secretary of the head of the Russian state Dmitry Peskov.
"No, Pashinyan did not ask for help. Of course, the Armenian side expressed extreme concern about the situation on the border. This concern was shared by President Putin. And President Putin emphasized the need to fulfill all the provisions of the trilateral agreements [Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia]. First of all, this provision , which talks about the need for a ceasefire, "said a Kremlin spokesman, answering a question whether Putin and Pashinyan discussed expanding military cooperation.
To note, according to the information of the press service of the acting Prime Minister of Armenia, during a telephone conversation, Pashinyan informed that he instructed to officially apply to the CSTO to start consultations in accordance with Article 2 of the Collective Security Treaty. "The interlocutors agreed that a way out of the current situation should be expressed in the return of Azerbaijani troops to their starting positions," the press service of the acting head of the RA government said in a statement.
