ArmInfo. Russia advocates that all humanitarian issues related to the Karabakh conflict be resolved as quickly as possible and without preconditions. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this in Baku on May 11, answering a question about peace maps.
"This also applies to mines that kill civilians. I mean issues related to the transfer of the bodies of the dead, and clarification of the fate of the missing, and the return of prisoners of war, and the settlement of problems associated with the material remnants of the war, in this case, mines. We discussed this issue a few days ago in Yerevan. It seemed to me that the Armenian leadership has an understanding of the need to solve this problem, "the minister said, adding that the first preliminary steps in this direction were made, and the leadership of Azerbaijan was informed about this.
At the same time, Lavrov noted that Moscow expects that this process will be significantly accelerated and the problem will be completely resolved.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani authorities deliberately delay the process of returning Armenian prisoners of war and civilians, and for the 7th month, in violation of the 8th clause of the trilateral statement, they continue to detain several hundred Armenians.
