ArmInfo. Within the framework of the meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO member states Secretaries of the Security Councils of Armenia and Russia Armen Grigoryan and Nikolai Patrushev met in Dushanbe.
According to the information of the RA Security Council, the parties stressed the importance of permanent contacts between the heads of both countries and the development of cooperation between the defense departments and special services of Armenia and Russia.
In the context of ensuring security, Armen Grigoryan touched upon the large-scale reforms carried out in the Armed Forces of Armenia within the framework of mutually beneficial cooperation between the Armed Forces of both countries, taking into account the strategic allied nature of relations. In turn, Nikolai Patrushev stressed the importance of the functioning of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh, thanks to which it is possible to restore normal life in Nagorno-Karabakh. He also noted the need to develop regional infrastructure.
During the meeting, the parties approved a plan of cooperation between the offices of the Security Councils of Armenia and Russia within the framework of the agreement for 2021-2022. Following the meeting, the parties agreed on mutual visits in the near future.
