ArmInfo. On the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, we, the Javakhk Armenians living in Russia, declare our determination to continue the struggle for the recognition of the historical truth and to seek justice for the Armenian and other peoples affected by the acts of genocide. This is stated in the statement of the board of the public organization "Javakhk Diaspora of Russia".
"Ignoring the fact of the Armenian Genocide by unscrupulous politicians and biased structures is actually the complicity of the latter in this crime. Turkey cannot live forever with the stigma of being a "killer of peoples" and with the syndrome of retribution for crimes committed.
We declare that Turkey is obliged to make a proposal on its own initiative to compensate the material and moral damage to the victims of the Genocide and the Armenian people as a whole. As a confidence-building measure, to make a symbolic gesture of goodwill, sensitive for Armenians and politically safe for Turkey, namely, to adopt a program under the auspices of UNESCO against the further destruction of the historical monuments of Armenian architecture scattered on its territory, to transfer to Armenia a small area adjacent to the border with the ruins of Ani-the medieval capital of Armenia, to reconsider its attitude to the idea of an Armenian national hearth.
On behalf of the Javakhk Armenians living in Russia, we strongly condemn Turkey for the genocide of 1915 and its policy of denial. We will continue to draw the attention of all mankind to condemn this terrible crime. To condemn the policy of Turkey, which it still continues to pursue.
We bow our heads to the memory of the innocent victims and call on Turkey to wash away the dirt and recognize the Armenian Genocide! " the statement reads.
