ArmInfo. Armenia and Georgia have outlined new ways to further develop and strengthen cooperation. This is stated in the published letter addressed to the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili by the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, following his official visit to Georgia.
In particular, the Head of state noted that the two countries have common interests and promising future cooperation in the field of new technologies, artificial intelligence, education and science, infrastructure development, energy, transport, etc.
I am confident that the practical and effective agreements reached during the visit will further deepen cooperation between our countries in various fields for the benefit of our fraternal peoples. It should be noted that according to the RA State Committee, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Georgia in 2020 decreased by 12.9% to $129.7 million. At the same time, exports showed a decline of 17%, amounting to $57.5 million, while imports decreased by 9.4% to $72.2 million.
At the same time, in the first 2 months of 2021, there is a recovery in trade turnover between the countries. Thus, during the reporting period, the volume of mutual trade increased by 24.3%, amounting to $20.1 million, with an increase in exports by 10.3% to $8 million, imports by 35.7% to $12.1 million
