ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that lawbreakers in Meghri should be severely punished. He stated this on April 21 during a meeting in the Syunik regional administration.
"What happened in Meghri today, I am sure, is a violation of the law. And I hope that the law enforcement agencies of the republic will react to this in a very clear and harsh manner, since a small group of people cannot be allowed to create the impression: that is, regardless of impressions, an atmosphere of impunity cannot be allowed in the republic. "G-Abazyan (Director of the National Security Service, ed. note) and Mr. Ghazaryan (Head of the Police, ed. note), I hope that with special and drastic actions you will resolve this issue and those guilty will be held accountable in a visible to the public form, "Pashinyan said.
It should be noted that this morning the prime minister's motorcade, accompanied by dozens of security officers, was very violently greeted in Agarak and Meghri. Residents chanted "Nikol is a traitor!", "Nikol is a Turk", there was a scuffle between the opponents of the prime minister and the prime minister's personal bodyguards. Then the Kajaran people did not allow Pashinyan to enter their city, blocking the entrances - the prime minister's motorcade was forced to go around Kajaran. For the visit of the prime minister in Kapan, additional police forces, servicemen and NSS officers were pulled to the regional administration building, which did not allow city residents to enter the building. In Kapan, supporters of the prime minister greeted him with applause, while opponents were chanting "Nikol- traitor! "," Nihol - surrendering the land! ". The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia instructed the police to conduct criminal proceedings in connection with the events in Syunik.
