ArmInfo. Spokesperson Mane Gevorgyan believes that "well-known circles" organized a "warm welcome" for Nikol Pashinyan in Agarak and Meghri. "A stop in Kapan, where the inhabitants warmly welcome the Prime Minister. And what happened in Agarak and Meghri are actions organized by well-known circles and have no connection with the inhabitants of these communities," Gevorgyan wrote on her Facebook page.
Gevorgyan also said that Nikol Pashinyan, within the framework of his visit to Syunik region, visited the N military unit of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. Pashinyan walked around the military unit, got acquainted with the operational situation and the social conditions of the servicemen. At the moment, the Prime Minister is holding a meeting with the leadership of the region in the building of the Syunik regional administration. Also present are Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan, Director of the National Security Service Armen Abazyan, Chief of Police Vahe Ghazaryan, Governor Melikset Poghosyan, deputy governors and other officials and the commander of the 4th Army Corps Major General Artak Budaghyan.
It should be noted that earlier the prime minister's motorcade, accompanied by dozens of security officers, was very stormy received in Agarak and Meghri. Residents chanted "Nikol is a traitor!", "Nikol is a Turk", there was a scuffle between the opponents of the prime minister and the prime minister's personal bodyguards. Then the people of Kajaran did not allow Pashinyan to enter their city, blocking the entrances - the prime minister's motorcade was forced to go around Kajaran and went to Kapan in another way. For the visit of the prime minister in Kapan, additional police forces, servicemen and NSS officers were pulled to the regional administration building, which did not allow city residents to enter the building. In Kapan, supporters of the prime minister greeted him with applause, and opponents were chanting "Nikol is a traitor!", "Nikol- handed over the lands! ". The General Prosecutor's Office of Armenia instructed the police to conduct criminal proceedings in connection with the events in Syunik.
