ArmInfo. Russia played a major role in ending the armed conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his address to the Federal Assembly on April 21.
He stressed that Russia seeks to assist in the settlement of regional conflicts, and has already done a lot to stabilize the situation in Syria, to establish a political dialogue in Libya.
"As you know, Russia also played a major role in stopping the armed conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. It is on the basis of mutual respect that we build ties with the absolute majority of the world's states: in Asia, in Latin America, in Africa, with many European countries, " the Russian leader said, adding that contacts with the closest partners in the SCO, BRICS, CIS and CSTO allies are consistently and as a priority.
At the same time, he stressed that common projects within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union are aimed at ensuring the growth of the economy and the well-being of citizens. "At the same time, new, interesting directions are emerging here, such as the development of transport and logistics corridors. I am sure that they will become reliable infrastructure frameworks for the greater Eurasian partnership. The Russian ideas of this broad economic association are being implemented in practice, including through integration with other integration processes. All these are not speculative geopolitical constructions, but purely applied tools for solving problems of national development, " Putin summed up.
