ArmInfo.A convincing victory in the early parliamentary elections in Armenia of "black" or "white" - "former" or current-will lay the foundations of a dictatorship in our country. A similar opinion was expressed by the secretary of the social democratic party "Citizen's Decision" Suren Sahakyan.
According to the politician, the only way to prevent such a prospect is by the appearance in the parliament of the future convocation of a balancing political force without which decision-making will be impossible. According to Sahakian's estimates, this force will be able to perform the functions of a balancer, having received from 10 to 15% of the votes in the elections.
"I really hope that our party will be able to enlist such support from our citizens. I hope that with the help of the voters, the "Citizen's Decision" will be able not only to pass to the parliament, but also to carry out this function. The appearance in the parliament of a political force that can be a stabilizing factor in a variety of political processes is very important, " he stressed. According to the forecasts of the politician, the political reincarnation of the" former " today is clearly not threatened. Moreover, Sahakian believes that such a prospect is already completely closed today, both for Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan, and for Levon Ter-Petrosyan. In this light, the politician noted that it would be very nice if the electorate closed the prospects of reproduction in power and Nikol Pashinyan. In his opinion, this would allow for a generational change in the political arena, which, according to Sahakyan, is completely based on the interests of Armenia.
Commenting on the role of Moscow in the upcoming electoral processes in Armenia, in the light of the recent trip of Prime Minister Pashinyan to Moscow and Robert Kocharian's curtsies to the Russian leadership, Sahakyan stressed that there is no particular difference in their attitude towards Russia. In his opinion, both are able to fulfill orders from Moscow, one better than the other.
"In any case, it should be noted that the attitude towards Russia has a very significant impact on the prospects for coming to power in Armenia. And if, for example, Pashinyan or Kocharyan suddenly decide to oppose Moscow, this will lead to the need to spend additional resources. Because they will have to explain to the electorate the motivation and expediency of such a position. That is why it is clearly not worth going in this direction, " Sahakyan stressed.
