ArmInfo. Head of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Artak Davtyan assured that maximum efforts are being made to return the prisoners of war home, to clarify as soon as possible the fate of the missing, as well as to search and identify the remains of the bodies.
He stated this during a meeting on April 9 with the parents and relatives of the captured or missing servicemen during the fighting in Artsakh.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense, Davtyan provided detailed information on search operations, answered questions of interest. He stressed that all the issues raised are in the focus of the country's military-political leadership. According to the source, an agreement was reached on the regular nature of such meetings.
It should be reminded that since April 8, the parents of the missing and prisoners of war have been on the doorstep of the Armenian Defense Ministry. After waiting all day for either the Minister of Defense or the Chief of the General Staff to come out to them, and without waiting for this, by evening they blocked the entrances and exits of the building. At night, they were joined by the parents and relatives of the prisoners of war, who, after false information about the return of the group from Baku, went to the building of the Ministry of Defense. From the morning of April 9, the interstate roads Gyumri-Yerevan, Gumri-Vanadzor were blocked, the railway communication on the Gyumri-Yerevan route was also paralyzed.
