ArmInfo. The European Union (EU) and WHO have provided the Armenian Ministry of Health with 100 oxygen concentrators to help overcome complications from coronavirus infection. This was reported by the press service of the RA Ministry of Health. According to the source, oxygen concentrators are non-invasive for patients with severe illness and are needed to treat cases where patients have low blood oxygen levels.
Since the onset of the coronavirus crisis, the EU and the WHO Regional Office for Europe have supported Armenia in the fight against the coronavirus. In particular, in 2020, the EU provided Armenia with the first 100 oxygen concentrators, which were distributed among the country's medical institutions serving coronavirus patients.
At the same time, over 50 thousand personal protective equipment, 20 electrocardiography (ECG) devices and 11 monitors were provided. National laboratories were provided with 20 thousand high quality PRC tests.
It is reported that in the coming months, 22 ventilators (artificial lung ventilation) and 7 stationary fluoroscopy devices will be delivered to Armenia.
It should be noted that a total of 198,898 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Armenia, which is 22.5% of the number of citizens who passed the test. At the same time, 178,227 people (89.6%) recovered, the number of deaths reached 3647 (1.8%).
